but i was looking more into the 3 head machines after this one. I would have went with a 3head if I found this forum earlier.
Kaiwa, I guess you haven't read many of the posts regarding adaptability. You have to adapt to your location. A three head will not allow you to do that therefore they are inferior
thats funny a friend of mine has a route with about 130 u turns. that route runs about $8,000 amonth.
Pusherman, With all due respect, I think your friend (not you) is fibbing. There is nothing, short of me doing that route, that will make me believe that figure.
U-Turns come before Seaga on my list...and we all know how I feel about Seagas.
*sigh* Oh Kyle.....

If it is a 4 select, you really paid too much.
If it is an 8 select, you still paid too much, but it's not as bad as the previous line.
Like someone said, the location determines your income much more than the machine will.
However, some machines such as kinetics can draw above average attention and bring more volume that regular candy machines.
U-turn 8 selects do get more attention because people aren't used to them. but the can not make a poor location into a great location.
You mainly need to use 8 selects where you have a large volume of people (preferably employees) that cause you to have to service a traditional machine more often than the rest of your route. You don't want to use an eight select in slow volume accounts - throwing away stale candy is no fun :-)
You can get U-turns with metal coin mechs (much more expensive) which may be better than the plastic. I've never seen their metal ones; so, just because it's metal doesn't mean it is better.
I'm not impressed with the plastic mechs of U-turn either, but some people love the machines.
As for 4 selects, I prefer the Vendesign. They have many unique features and hold up great. Ie.. Nice metal drop through coin mechs (nickels fall to the floor, not in the bank), locking money banks, assembly in seconds to the stands with no tools needed.
The 8 selects can be good for getting a location since it is unique & takes up less space than 4 double heads, but if the volume is not enough, you should try to swap it with something more practical.
Good luck, Kaiwa. I hope you do well.

I currently have the 8 selections. How much do they usually cost??? I thought they were like $700 or so for the 8 selection. I plan on using these in high volume areas such as dealerships. I think this machine will do great at the toyota that it is at because it is one of the highest volume toyota in Ga.
If it doesn't I will consider in changing to a different machine. I will give it several months then see what it brings in.
In a month or so I do plan on getting like 3-5 more machines out. Also currently working on a rack in a new farmers market that is developing in my area, since I do know the owner. Any suggestions on racks?

As long as your machine is placed in the right area of the Toyota dealership, I would think it would do well if it is really that busy. Try not to let them direct you to place it at the end of a long hallway; you want it by the door or possibly in the service waiting areas. Actually if it is extremely busy, you could put 2 machines in that one location. If they have many employees in the service area, you can put one with easy access for them and the customers in the waiting area. Probably not 8 selects, though.
As for racks, I would suggest trying Oaks or Northwesterns. If money is no issue, then go with Beavers. Many machines these days are coming out of China. Some do fine; others are junk. Some of them are mentioned on this board, but I won't name names. Then some are called by several different names, yet they all come from the same factory in China.

he is my partner on some other things. so i know it is no bs. it is a hell of a route. i personally have not used many uturns because i have concentrated on building my route in different types of locations. i do hope to by the route some day.
i agree, i like the vendesign machines. they are well built. if you find them cheap, buy them.

So I paid way too much for that machine? I can't believe they are so cheap. I guess its ok, I will contact him and talk to him about the price and see what he says. Other than that mistakes will occur and we all learn from it. I'm not worried about my location, just worried that the machine will work for a good bit of time after hearing all the negative feedbacks about this machine.

Normally, on the second hand market, you can find 8 selects between $150 to $280 each. Ones new in the box, 2nd hand, are normally around $235 to $280. Depending on the age, you can sometimes find them for less.
Where did you get these prices from? I talked to the Rep around in my area and he told me right now the Uturn Elimator 8selection is $800 brand new.
As for the rack, will the one from GMW be good to start off with since I do not have much money to invest in to this business yet?

Where is a good place to get the toys for this machine? GMW again?
