So I have a Crane National 145 vending machine and something is wrong with it so I need an experts help! It was working fine and then all of the sudden things just started going wrong with it.
It has been giving people $6 or more dollars, the keypad gets harder to press the buttons after it has been turned on for 5 minutes or so and the lights where your enter what you want fades away!
Any advice would be great!

What do you mean that it gave peope $6 or more dollars? I would say that the button and display problem is related to the main board. Sounds like a trigger on the board is dying or draining out, and thereby not supplying the display or the keypad with power. I would replace the main board first, then the display board if that doesn't work. The beep speaker for the keypad is on the digital display, so that could be going bad. However, if you are having money problems with the machines, I'd say that your main board is going bad. Try that first. I don't know if you have a source for working boards for that machine, but Vendors Exchange repairs them for $49.99 plus parts. Their number is 1-800-321-2311.

Did the machine get salted? Changing out parts to fix a machine is an expensive way to fix a machine. Plugging in new control boards into a machine that obviously has power issues is not a good idea. Lets start with the basics you said it pays out 6.00 or more? first off is that after a vend, just sitting there? What coinage nickles, dimes or quarters? Key pad gets harder? its a membrane key pad it doesn't require much pressure so do you mean it doesn't work or you have to press it multiple times? Display fades? not uncommon for a national check your connector on display board they come loose very easy. How the coinmech pays out the 6.00 is important if you can give me an idea that would help. Also you need to check to see if the machine has been salted? Does the machine light work? does it have a bulb in it? Is the machine plugged into an extension cord? Have you checked the polarity on the recept? Nat'ls have a line filter you need to look for that it will be a silver box follow the power cord it will go right to it (if there are induced voltages the line filter is usually the problem if not the light fixture). Is there a microwave oven near by? So what I'm trying to say is don't condem the control board yet.....Check these things let me know and maybe we can figure it out> Just a thought. So I have a Crane National 145 vending machine and something is wrong with it so I need an experts help!
