I just picked up a 501t. I'm unable to enter the service mode. The machine is also missing the BA, does that matter? Apart from the missing BA, the machine works fine. I just can't enter the service mode. Anyone encounter this before?

I've disconnected the switch and ohm'd it out. It breakes the connection when pressed. Is this normal?
Thanks for the help

The switch you checked out would be the reset switch. When you press theservice button on the control board, does the display change at all? If so, what does it say? .

The black switch pictured in the top right is the one I checked. It said that it was the service switch. When pressed, nothing happens. No change in display. Just the decimal point is showing.

Still haven't figured this one out. Would I need to have a BA connected to enter the service mode? Right now I do not have a BA. Any suggestions?

Are you sure this is a Dixie 501T machine? That does not look like what I remember.

Yep, it's a MPC board in a 501t.
