I can't get my W64 to vend (set to free vend) after selecting item unless I unplug the ST1 plug behind the bill validator and plug it back in.  If I unplug and replug the cans will drop.  The selection switches are good (checked then) but when you selecte the motors do not ingage.

Any idea what is going wrong?

Did this ever work on free vend before or has is worked on money up until now?  What bill validator do you have installed in this?  I haven't seen anyone put one on a machine this old before.

The machine is about 6 years old- its a repro but yes it worked until one wire in the keypad went bad- replaced it and keypad worked fine but now won't dispense until I unplug the display connector from the board behind the coin validator.  I can select a product and the switches click and the display goes to 0 but no vend until I unplug the disply and replug on the validator board behind the coin mechanism, then a can will dispense immediately and the display returns to free.

Have you tried contacting the US distributor for this machine?  I have no experience with it as Wurlitzer is a very minor player in the vending business.  It was poorly represented by Automat, Inc. in Salt Lake City and they were of no help with the three machines I've ever seen.

I have tried and as you said very poor support. No parts no service...Gibson has basically turned a blind eye to this machine. I did some more troubleshooting last night based on some of your other posts. I can get the motor to vend by going into the test menu, the led on the coin control board is solid green and all other switches are working -checked with ohm meter. I was not able to go into the menu factory reset in c10 UNLESS I disconnect the st2 connection on the coin validator control board. So basically I would go into the c10 menu, disconnect the led display from the coin control board and reconnect and then I can use the selector lever on the door to change the counter from 0 to 18 to do thfactory reset. So my question is what could be causing the signal to get hung up from the selector switch to the motor -when I disconnect the led display from the St2 or disconnect the coin validator from the St1 on the control board the signal bends a can. I can move the selector switch twice, disconnect, reconnect and it will vend two cans.....where is the hang up?

Do you have a wiring diagram and a manual for this machine?  I have never seen one as it was only sold as a nostalgia item for the consumer, not for commercial use.  I have no idea what the connections are that you are speaking of.  If the only repair you made was to the keypad and it was only one wire (what damaged the wire?) perhaps you did some disconnecting/reconnecting with power applied, which is a bad thing to do.  Have you tried accessing and test-vending the machine without the coin mech in it.  What model of coin mech does it use?  Sometimes a bad coin mech can mess a logic board machine up.

I have the wiring schematic and operators manual I can send you...how would I do that? I have not test vend with the coin mech out but have with it disconnected from the control board and it would vend. It's just strand that if I disconnect the led display that comes off the coin board and reconnect that the vend signal will activate to motor. Thanks for all your help! I am a nurse by trade but have educated myself on this machine but am stumped. I have successfully rewired several antique phones and radios with great success but this has become personal :-)

Now the led display is off. The coin mech is still a solid green light....so that means it's good right?

I haven't had time to study the manual yet, things have been hectic with my service business.  You could have a bad logic board, but I still need to study the wiring.

Update- I by passed the coin mech ans set the machine to free vend but no vending UNLESS I go into the service menu and run the test vend and then both columns vend. If I try to vend with the selector switch the display freezes on 0 and no vend.
