I am kiind of a gadget guy. I was looking for a GPS system to increase efficency on my route. Does anyone use one that will let you program all of your addresses and then select from those for which ever ones you want to run that day?

I am having a hard time finding the features I want.

I have been using the Garmin C330 street pilot for about 4 months now but in a different type of industry other than vending. You can enter a street address, then enter the place name, and save it to your favorites. You can also enter multiple addresses and place names if you need to. The day of your run you can perform a look up in your favorites by street or place name then press the go button and proceed to your destination. This unit is unable set your routes up for you on a daily basis but you can select your customers from the saved list and service them quickly. I don't know if this will help you but this unit has saved me a ton of time when traveling into an area that I am not familiar with.

I have the Garmin 2720. Paid a ton for it a few years ago but it has been a godsend!

Thanks for the replies fellas. The main thing I am looking for is to be able to select all of the stops I want to make that day and have the unit route those for me. I know the technology exists as I used it at another job, but it was through a laptop in the vehicle. I was really hoping to find a reasonably priced unit that could do what I want. But I can't even find a GPS unit that can do this, let alone at a reasonable price. I may just have to buy the software and equipment to attach to my laptop, but I really didn't want to do that.

what you need is a GPS system... Garmin or whatever with the capability to set Waypoints.
you'd preset each location you have as a "waypoint" then you can preset waypoints that you want to "visit" before your start your run and it will tell you which route to take for shortest travel time.
i look it up and found some softwares by TopoGrafix h t t p : / / w w w . t o p o g r a f i x . c o m / but i don't know if it's the exact one you would want. but look along those lines i guess...

hope it helps,

I love my Garmin! Couldn't be more satisfied. G.P.S. is helpful when you first start learning a new route or add new locations to an existing route. Use waypoints and you do not forget a location and have to backtrack.

Thanks for the offer, depending on what I find Imay take you up on that. Will it allow you to "plan a trip" ? HOw many stops will it allow on the set up?

What I am finding now that I sorda know what to look for is that I can create a list of stops Iwant to make and it will show me the shortest route from stop to stop but it wont organize them for me. As long as I take the time to organize is the first time, I can save the list and reuse it each time and then add or take away addresses as needed. I was looking at a MAgellan 4000 tonight and it seemed like a good unit. Still not sure though, I really wanted something that would organize the stops for me as well.
