I have the chance to buy an established gumball machine route. The numbers that I've been given seem promising, but collecting one quarter at a time worries me. The route has 15 triple head machines advertised for $3000. The seller claims they make $500 each per month. Are there any success stories like this out there?

I doubt they make 500.00 each a month .
ask for some paperwork.
10 to 30 dollars each a month is more realistic.

Agreed. $500 a month is absurd. Ask for proof and don't be surprised when your met with resistance.

I think what the guy meant is $500 from all 15 triple heads. Which is a very realistic number if all 15 are in good locations.
Scenario 1: The Guy is Stupid...
why would he sell something he has to put 1 hour work into each month that makes him $500 for ONLY $3000 !!!
Scenario 2: The Guy is Lying...
the machines are making like $100 per month and he's exagerating.
Either way...
Watch out... cuz you can buy 30 triple vends (double) what he's offering for that same price if you're willing to locate yourself.
