Just wondering if anyone has or uses a free vending managment software package? I am in the process of trying to build my own database with Microsoft Access. Does anyone use one of these or know where I can get one? Im wanting it to keep track of sales, costs, inventory, and profit and loss. I would like to be able to enter in products under categorys such as can soda or candy or sandwhich and be able to see what the percent of my sales are each category. I would also like to be able to keep track of inventory by automaticly taking the product out of inventory when I say it was sold and same go with buying new product. I would like for it to keep track of how many I buy and add it to the inventory. Does anyone have anything like this with access? Anyone with any ideas about this please let me know.
Thanks,

In my opinion, you're getting way too detailed with this. In the beginning, I thought I had to track every little thing also, but eventually, it got to be a whole lot of time and trouble for no good reason. I mean, if you're going to dex your machines so computers do 100% of the work, I guess you could try it. The thing is, it's too difficult to track snacks because your selections will change more often. However, if you stick to just one or two snack machines it could be done, but I'm not sure what good it will do for you.

See thats the thing I am only going to have 1 snack machine 1 can soda machine and one food and bottle combo machine so it wouldnt be that difficult for me to track I just need to software to keep track of it. Im going to make one I guess and I will put it on here when I get it doen. Thats something else pretty cool with vendiscuss.com they have a section of useful files that people can download and try out. Anyways I guess if no one uses anything like this I will just have to try an build my own.

Bass,
I was in the same boat you were in a little over three years ago. I did end up building my own system (in Access). Eventually I put it online (even though my dad and I were the only "users"). You can read the whole story at http://www.vend-trak...m/2.0/about.asp (if you just have nothing else to do!)
Please let me know your experience, thoughts, suggestions, etc.
