I had this happen at a location and they were sure it was me. I was like you, I worried if it was my machine. I called the re-furb guy I bought it from 6 months earlier to see what they thought. He said there is almost nothing that the pop machine could do to trip the breaker. I went there and ran an extension to another circuit and everything was fine. Then they had their electrician check the circuit. The problem was on their circuit.
My guess is that they have added some new load source to the circuit you are on. Try re-setting the breaker and plugging your machine in to see if it will trip the breaker again. If it does run an extension to a plug on a different crcuit and see what happens. If it doesn't trip on a different circuit I would try and find out if they have added something new to the original circuit. Even if your machine trips a second circuit that won't say for sure there is a problem with the machine. The second circuit may also be carrying a full load. I'm not an electrician so I would call one at this point. If you have the proper testers and know how to use them you may be able to figure it out yourself.
I hope this helps a little. Good luck, Ted

I have DN 368 that has been on site for 8 months. I got a call today from the facilities manager informing me that their breaker is tripping. They think it is my machine. Question I have, is there something that could happen to machine that would cause the breaker to pop?
Any suggestions would be helpful
Thanks,

There might be two things wrong with your machine. The first is if you don't have light bulbs in the front it can make your machine act crazy. The second is to check your compressor. The way that you do that is to unplug your compressor from the machine. Then plug the machine back into the wall and see if your electronics come on. If your machine works fine without your compressor then you know what your problem is. I had to replace a compressor that kept tripping the breaker. Also, don't use extention cords and I recommend buying a surge protector for each machine.

Thanks for the advice.. I spoke w/ the facility guy this morning. Our plan is to first check the compressor. I hope it is not the compressor, since I had to replace it last year while it was still under warranty. I did have a lose wire problem a couple of months ago that kept the dollar bill mech from working. However, it did not trip the breaker. Anyway, thanks all for the suggestions. At least now I am armed w/ additional knowledge.

Found someone local who sells parts. $225 w/ 1 year warranty. The vending repair guy I contacted wanted $400 to do the job. I replaced once...I know I can do it again.

.I went to the location today. Tested the machine w/o compressor and all was well. As soon as I turned the compressor on.....bam....out went the lights.

The compressor that I replaced took a total of 15 minutes and very easy to do. If that guy is charging $400 to do then he must not know what kind of work is involed (a screwdriver + travel time). Glad to see it worked out for you. Best of luck to you.

I wish I knew the end to this story first hand. Most liley it wasnt the compressor. Usually nothing in the machine will make it pop unless something is grounding out. I would of checked the breaker first by flipping it then holding my finger on it to see if it seemed week. If it was a week breaker then I would replace if I have one(ask if they allow this first) or request maint to do it for you. Even with the head unit burned up and the load over pulling it shouldn't pop the breaker. If you dont have a ground that could be the culprit as well. Also voltage meters are your friend in this situation and should save you alot of money and time. Also always consider load on the room. IF you have a frozen you need a dedicated line with 20A. If its multiple machines you shouldnt do more then 2 coke and 1 snack.
