Sure, your still in Florida. I just started in the bulk candy vending bussiness. I have placed only 4 machines so far. Taking it slow, I'm tring to learn as I locate to learn about the whole business. The thing I'm having trouble with is the legal side. I'm using a charity and was told I didn't have to pay sales tax. Then someone said that I would have to fill every quarter, even if I was exempt. I just need help in the whole legal side of the business. WJTHi WJT.

I just logged on and you're the 2nd post I read. I'm from Ohio I know thats not in Florida but my understanding of this business is you are an independent operator and are subject to IRS rules as such. As for filing quarterly that is a guide line and not a rule as the IRS doesn't want you getting behind on what you will owe them at the end of the year. With as few machines that you have out you have nothing to worry about anyway.Don't know what you meant about being exempt because we all pay federal tax on income even if its passive.I'm also assuming that you have a primary job that withholds taxes.Everything you buy for vending(machines, candy and locators) not to mention wear and tear on your vehicle to service them. Insurance on said vehicle, gas and don't forget that you do bookkeeping in your house so as you grow a competent CPA is going to have you write off a percentage of all you household bills.I really didn't mean to make this a lengthy log as I've never done this before but it just started coming out. I prefer to talk on phone. If this helps I'm glad if not just throw it away. If you want to call my cell is 330-559-8750.Goodluck

That's pretty much what I was going to say too. It's a lot of recordkeeping, but worth it in the end if you plan to stay in this business. Last year I lost money on my other business, but still had to file and show that the costs exceeded the profits. I thought I wouldn't have to file because I hadn't made enough to tax, but the IRS called and had me file anyway.
