I have a Vendo 407 single price drink machine. The problem I am having is after a customer inserts the required amount to buy a drink they will press two different selections simultaneously and BAM! they get two drinks for the price of one. What must I do to fix this problem. Now, several people in that office know of this trick and are taking advantage of it. Someone please tell me how to fix this. I tried changing out the selection switches on the selections that dispensed drinks but that didnt work.

Help please,

Tom

Is it the same two selections or any combination? You will probably have to replace the micro switches behind the selection buttons. They are not expensive and easy to replace, its best to do them all, I would also replace the switches on the vend motors as well.

As drinkman said check your switches, also check all your motors on each selection and makes sure you don't have a loose wire, are a wire that is disconnected, also rotate each motor, to insure that each motor is working.

Is the free vended product from the same column or different columns? Also just for general puposes make sure the brake is working correctly (not broken, gummed up or spring missing) on the motor and not coasting.

Pressing the 1st and 2nd selections simultaneously will dispense two drinks. Same thing for selections 3 and 4 but does not happen on any other selections. I did replace the micro switches behind the selection buttons of the affected selections but no luck. I'll try replacing the switches at the vend motors and see what happens.

the free vended product is from a different column. This is what happens...after inserting required amount press selection buttton #2 first, and then #1 almost at the same time and machine will give you selection #2 and the free product from selection #1. I hope I explained it to where it makes sense.

it only works on selections #2 and #1 together and #5 and #4 together. Tried replacing micro swithches behind the selections buttons of the affected selections but not luck. It still gives the free product. I'll try replacing switches at the affected vend motors and see if it'll fix the problem.

I'll double check the wiring. Funny thing is after inserting the required amount, pressing any single selection will dispense the drink like it should. Some how someone figured out how to get two for the price of one. I'm wondering if this is a design problem for the older Vendo models.
