I just set up a used dixie narco 501 e that i bought. It has 9 columns. some are set up for bottles with the shims puchs back. I filled up the ones that were set uo for cans with cans. I followed the instructions and set the brown cams to position 1. I tested it repeatedly and sometimes all the selections vend twice while other times they do not vend at all and it keeps the money. Please help me out as i already have this on location and the people need their drinks.
Thank you Baruchi
Is your cam making three turns? The 12 oz setting is set to vend three times so make sure you have the back plate set to fit three cans deep. You have red and brown cams and they have different settings so make sure that you have it on the right one. The shim that you use for cans is a shim that makes a single 90 degree corner. It sounds like you have the wrong shim in there. If your current shim has two 90 degree corners, that is a 20 oz shim. Also, you have rods that you can use to grip the can tighter if needed but I rarely ever use those.
Let me know if this answers your question.

Hey thanks for the tip, I replaced all the comumns with the correct shims and placed the rod in the middle hole. Two columns now vend correctly, however two others kept giving problems. all the cams are set to #1 so I dont know what else it coul be. Any ideas???
Describe the problem that the other colums are giving you? Are you sure that every column is an exact copy of the columns working? Is the double column working?

I set up all the columns the same way. Cam set to #1, rod in position B or the middle hole and I installed the 12 oz shims. two of the columns work, when three sodas come out i hear the roter restock itself for the forth. the other columns seem that they are not turning enough because it will not vend then vend twice then vend once then it starts the cycle again (0,2,1,0,2,1......
You need to concentrate on the cycle when nothing falls out. You must have the column set too tight for the can to drop. I would suggest taking out the rod to start and if you still have the prolblem you need to look at the bottom of the machine. See why that can is not falling and what is holding it up.
