Hi,
I recently bought a few machines from another vendor, and one of the free bonus machines was a 6-selection mechanical drink machine, model NSV 186. For pictures of a similar product, see this eBay link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/...216112010r17080
(That's not the one I bought, it just has a picture of the same machine).

Anyhow, the machine seems to cool fine, but after the compression stopped cooling, there still seems to be a fan inside that just keeps going and going. Is this normal behavior? If it is, then I'm fine. If it's not, it may be because the test conditions aren't normal, since the machine is in a shed where the ambient temperature is not what the machine is used to, and the machine is not stocked with product.

Any tips one way or the other would be nice.

Thanks,
-Michael

thats the evaporation fan or circulation fan what ever you want to call it. That fan runs all the time to circulate the cold air in the machine. If that fan does not run all the time your machine would never get cold and the evaporator coils would freeze up.

Thanks Snack Dude! That's what I suspected, but I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't about to run until it dies or something.

Technically, it will eventually run until it dies...then the freezing begins!

Bringing up an old thread....what other conditions could cause the machine to freeze over? I have a USI that has been freezing over for a week or two. The coils are clean.

The thermostat could have quit working and the compressor does not kick off and keeps running untill the coils freeze up and the compressor overheats and shuts down. Are the drinks frozen when you open the door? Also there could be an air leak in the door or at the product tray which will allow warm moist air in and that will freeze the coils.

Good Luck
