I am pretty new to this vending thing. Been running one machine at work for about 2.5 years. Only doing it because the guy that used to do it moved and sold the machine to me, basically so we could still have a soda machine at work.
Machine is a Pepsi machine that does cans or like 16 oz. bottles only.
Machine has ran great for the most part. I have cleaned the bill exchanger a few times to correct any problems. Right now the service light is on (blinking like 6 times or something). Anyone know what this means exactly? Can I service it? Do I need a new board? If I buy a new BA30B will that fix the problem (the current one needs new belts, and is pretty worn)?
Any help you can provide would be great.

If its not taking bills and it does take coins and vends... then its most likely the validator, you can get a cheap BA30 for $50 and swap it out. Make sure you have the right cables. If it was any other kind of validator I'd say try to fix it... but BA30s are cheap and reliable

It won't take bills, and at times it will take coins. I think the error on the bill acceptor might be confusing the coin operation eventually.
I just took the bill exchanger apart even more (unscrewing it, etc) and I found a piece of a shredded bill inside. I am going to finish putting the bill accepter back together today and see if that fixes it. If not I will order up a new one.
