I am looking into a rouet for sale near me. Not sure the brand of machines or anything yet but they are seperate snack and soda machines. He has 4 locations with a total of 11 machines says they are bringing in on average of 515.00 weekly. Takes him 6 or so hours usually on Mondays to service. He is selling due to new job and schooling not allowing him the day to service. He wants 11K for all this seems like a nice price and he says he will take half down and let you pay the other 6-12 months later because he knows the income from the machines will be enough that you could pay it. I am gonna try and got see the route this Monday. What do you guys think could there be a way that it would be a ripe off? I purchased a small counter top snack route years ago(and sold years ago) everything went fine but things have changed now. Any ideas for me?

thanks
jeff

Based on the sales the price doesn't sound bad.

BUT, The sale per machine sounds very low for full size machines.

If they are name brand electronic machines in good condition it may give you some machines to move to other locations.

If the machines are real old or just plain junk and need to be replaced then it would probably be a ripoff.

See if the seller will go ahead and give you the machine information and let us know.

Good luck.

Even if you have to replace the machines... 25k in sales for 11k is good. $125 a week per location is good money..

I thought it seemed pretty good also, but wan't sure my friend has a route with Yonaturals and makes much more than that but most machines are in schools. They machines on this route are Dixie-Narco and 1 Royal. Thats all the details I have right now but I hope to go see the route soon.

Does seem like a good deal (but many have been fooled before)

Routes seem to be harder to sell than a lot of people think, particularly in times like the present. You could try to find out the real reason why he is selling to see how desperate he is. Unless you think it is too great a deal to pass up be prepared to drag out your decision over a period of a month or so and keep hoping that he calls you with lower offers.

Going out to service the route with him will help you to get an idea of the true route income. Going twice to some machines with him will also help you to see the activity in the time between visits. It would also be worth going back to some of the locations alone and watching the buying action for a few hours.

I couldn't get the money anyway but it seemed funny when I asked go with him when he does the route he said ( well that may be a problem since I end up at school after the route. I said well I am not gonna buy anything if I can't see it. He said well it will just be hard. So I said it again and then he finally says" well we can make it happen I guess" It just seems like he would have been well hell yeah you can come with me. I mean if he really wanted to sell it then thats what he should have done. He said he was actually selling because he was tired of the soda and candy business and wanted to expand his amusement route. In E-mail he told me he didn't have time for it. On the phone he said he could make the time but was just tired of it. Well maybe it is a good deal and someone else can get it. He is in Romulus MI. area found on craigslist in the detroit section. Thanks for the help guys

Thats a good selling price, ask about commissions, contracts, and what kind of machines they are. Ask if he has records of meter reading to show gross #'s. Make sure all soda machines keep cold, and mechs work (bill and coin).
