Bought out another vending business. He had this GPL 159 reman in storage with no bill validator or coin mech. The coin mech is a 15 pin 9302lf 24 volt and the bill validator is a ba30sa. I have tried 2 of these validator in this machine that worked in other machines but they won't work in this one. The light in the logic board light once and the validator cycles when the power is turned on but then the light goes and it will not even try to pull a bill in. I have a ba32sa 24 volt that will plug into the same plug but I'm afraid it might burn it up. I plugged a 12 pin 9300 into it and it will accept coin but validator cycles when power applied and goes back out again. Sorry for so long but sure could use some help if someone knows whats wrong here. Ken

I do not mean to be funny here. but are there nickels in the coin mech when you try the bill acceptor. most machines will turn off the bill validator and go to a exact change only state when the coin mech runs low on nickels. We know your getting power to everything because it cycles and accepts change. when you try the coin mech did it give change back or did you use exact change?

Snack dude, thanks for the reply. Since posting last night I have worked on this machine and talked to the company that does my validators and coin mechs. We checked the machine and found out it is setup for the 9300 110 volt and I installed a refurb. I also located the origional ba30sa that was just refurbed and installed it. Same problem machine accepts coin, will payout coin but validator cycles once and led light flashes once then light on logic board goes out and val. won' accept bills and coin mech is full. I then took the validator to another exact machine a few miles away and put it in and it works like new in the other machine. I have inspected the harnesses and they all look ok. I checked the setup on the machine and it seems to be setup right and the dip switch on the logic board is set to serial. I don't know where to go from here. Ken
