I'm afraid they are a dying breed. Can you actually make money with an ATM? It seems paying 3k for a machine is a bit steep. Do people actually still use them THAT much?

I actually use them quite often and pay for it too. I've seen service charges as high as $3.00 per transaction. I think alot of banks are going to be helpng the ATM owners a bunch soon. There are several here in my area that reimburse service fees to the customer. If that becomes the norm I think people will use them alot more.

I used to have a friend I worked with who owned about 10 ATM's a couple of years ago. He was making about $1,500.00 / mo. on his good months during the summer (he had some more seasonal locations) and $800.00 / mo. on his bad months. I used to install ATM's for the banking industry and bring them online. I know that Wells Fargo and B of A are making plenty off of ATM's........ LOL
