Snack/Soda/Frozen Machine Storage

Just need some advice. I have a small soda/snack route, and as of the end of this month, I am losing one of my locations (classic case of big corporate local vendor winning out over my 1-man operation!). Anyway, life will go on and new locations will be found. My question is this: When my machines are pulled from this location (I have a 12-select soda, 40-select snack, and 22-select frozen) can I store them in my garage for a month or two until a new opportunity comes along to place them?? Bear in mind, I live in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, this is January, it's currently 27 degrees, and my garage is not heated. Will it in any way damage these machines to store them in the cold for several weeks?? I'd prefer not to have to pay for a heated storage unit. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I think you will be fine, but to be on the safe side, you can pull the components such as the control board, coin mech, and validator out and store in your house, reason being it's the moisture that would concern me, with the temperature swings in a Garage, you can bet there will be moisture present.

I would pull out the coin mech and the control board. Also you may want to wrap the compressor of the cold machine and pop machine in a blanket. I wouldn't suggest any longer than 3 months outside. Also, I would wrap each machine ENTIRELY in a blanket or tarp, this will prevent mice and or squirrels from building a home in there during the cold months. Once a mouse gets in there, they can chew wires and just wreak havoc in there. I speak from experience on the mice thing lol.
