Hello my Name is Blake and I have been interested in getting into the vending business for quite some time. Currently I have the go ahead to set up a vending machine in a small business cafeteria with decent foot traffic. There are currently two Vending machines in place, one snack and one drinks. My intent was to purchase a E-vending Futura and place it in location. Hopefully driving the other vendor out. My questions are... is this a good machine to start out with? and 2) Can the owner of the company(who I am close with) tell the big company vendor to take his machines out? Very excited but have been reading a lot of information and am nervous about buying a piece of junk... thanks for the help!

I would not buy that machine and I would not go into a location that has current vending unless they were made to leave by the account manager.

I hope once I become a legitament business and i purchase my first vending machine, i hope to be able to finagle them(other Venders) out of the business as my Uncle is part owners of the company. Is the Business required to give them a 30 day notary before they need to remove their machines? My first vend will be a steal so i will boot this business off with a bang! Thanks for any consulting or information, very much appreciated as I have been finding out more and more how there seems to be a lot of scheming in the vending industry. Thanks

Thanks to RJT's input and help. I am defiantly putting off the evending machine and going to invest in two Northwestern super 60 gum ball machines. One is defiantly going in an office building and unsure about the second. hopefully a hair salon or something but what I am wondering is if i should buy the 1" gum ball slot or the candy slot and put the chick-lets in it and place that in the office setting. fresh minty chick-lets. one thing about chick-lets is that they are amazing but only last a few minutes. hopefully coming back to give me that 2nd or 3rd quarter. any input is appreciated. Also decided to hold off on insurance until I have more machines in route. I have an LLC and will be filing a DBA through the LLC? does this sound like the appropriate steps? Will I need a Michigan Sales Tax ID? Thanks

I never said not to do vending I just said I would not but that machine. A snack machine can bring in good money in the right location. Either way good luck.....

Thank you, You have made me realize that the answer to all my vending questions is not the all in one combo. That maybe I should start even smaller and see if i have the niche to talk business owners. I have decided to join a charity group to help promote my bulk vending. Thanks again and any legal advise would great be appreciated.

I am not a lawyer so I dont give legal advice. You dont have to start in bulk vending to start "small". Nothing wrong with the drink-snack business to start if done correctly. I NEVER said not to start in the drink snack vending, I said I would NOT buy that machine. I never said that a combo machine is not the way to start. That has nothing to do with starting small.

Yes you need to be able to sell your services but that is just one asspect of vending. Their is WAY more to it than selling accounts.

If getting into bulk vending I would steer clear of charity group vending. If I were calling on one of your locations that was a "charity vending" location I would get the account from you in one visit.

Good luck....

If you can take over the cafeteria account with a full sized snack & drink machine that you can purchase used then go ahead. Just ask the management if they have a contract with the vendor and if not then everything is fine. You should have them give the vendor notice, especially if the other vendor is doing a good job and you are just getting them kicked out because of who you know. Treat the other vendors like you'd like to be treated. However if the other vendor is doing a poor job and management has complained multiple times then I have no problem with them giving the other vendor minimal notice because they should know it is coming.

You never ever ever want to compete head to head with another vendor like RJT said. If you are moving your machines in make sure the other ones are going out.
