From what I read, it sounds like thermostat went out. When you open door to machine to load drinks, see if thermostat is working by turning knob. If you hear compressor click on and off, then it is not thermostat. If it is not thermostat, then it is compressor more than likely. It could be fan in back not running but do not stick your hand back there. I suggest you get a someone to check it out if you have never replaced one and watch what he does. It is pretty simple to replace.

Be sure to check the evaporator fans, they are located inside the machine in front of the coil. If you still had some water on the coils when you started it, it could freeze up. Make sure it is completly defrosted and the fans inside are working. If you have no air moving the coils will freeze. As mentioned by Doedoebird, the thermostat is another area to check.

no the suggestion of 4-6 inches from wall is a MINIMUM to allow air flow......standing in the center of room makes no difference...the more air flow the better..... coils frozen and warm pop?....as suggested make sure circulatin fans are running, check door seals, is ice forming "all over" the evaporator , or just part of it?......did you move the machine in the upright position, or lay it down in a truck? (not recommended).....did something happen in transport?

you said "fan below".....i am assuming you are talking about the condensor fan which cools the compressor and exhausts air out the back of the cabinet.......if it freezes all over the "condensor in an hour.....have you checked the fan inside the cabinet? if you kneel down and look in under the delivery chute....."above" the condensor you say is frosted up is a circulating fan.....this fan runs constantly, circulating air throughout the insulated cabinet...it never shuts off.....if its not running you will freeze the coils up very quickly....i think this fan is bad, or the blades of it are caught on something.......if thar is it, i would still run the machine overnite to see how it does...

SIDE NOTE: hauling anything refrigerated, on its side or back.....not the best thing....and when you do the machine needs to set in the upright position for at least 12 hours....reason being when its on its side the oils in your compressor is allowed to settle in your copper lines, and if immediately plugged in when stood up runs the risk of a line blockage and damage/ruination of your compressor.....i think you got lucky this didn't happen to you....

breakdown manuals?...not impossible to find on the internet but be sure to have your make/ and model #..........vending machines are like cars, without a model#, it would be hard to help you.....
