neither of those you will probably need to engage in outside sales ( unsolicited sales in-person)

Hustle! Keep your eyes and ears open. Talk to your friends. Watch Craigslist and other classifieds closely. Put together some professional brochures and have business cards and don't leave the house without them.
One of my best locations came from a report on the local news. There was an announcement with much fanfare how a 200+ employee tech company was relocating from Silicon Valley to my area. I was on the phone with them the next day and had machines placed before they moved in the following week.
Finally, I believe in web sites. They can be pretty cheap to maintain.

All GREAT advice!!! All can be done for around $300 or less if you do it yourself and or shop around for the best prices on such services.
To land good locations you need all of the above and good old fashioned cold calling in person. A liitle hint, if you are going to go through the effort of all of the above dress to impress. Wear dress pants, dress shirt, (tie optional) or for the ladies wear a businees suit or dress pants and a nice conservative top. No smelly perfume or cologne!! You are dealing with business people that want to do business with like people.

Ah, yes. I forgot about dressing professionally as I take that for granted. In fact, depending on the type of locations you have, you should dress professionally when servicing machines as well.
I have a location where the client contacted me after throwing out a previous vendor. One of their complaints was that the guy would come in cut-off shorts and flip flops and his girlfriend would accompany him wearing halter tops and middrifs with her tramp stamp exposed. This company maintains a professional office environment with clients coming and going. They don't want to see that.
