What would be a good rule on how far back you would go on purchasing used machines pending year make. Two in question, one AP-6600 4-wide and one USI Snackshop 2, Model 2098, 4-wide. are these machines risky for dependability and or parts availability.
The AP6600 is a workhorse. Yes it is geting on in years but there are plenty of non-oem parts available for it. The USI Snackmart 2 on the other hand is old enough that parts availability is extremely limited.
However, for the right price anything can be a bargain.....

I have not seen the machines in person, they are from two different sellers. They are asking $850.00 for the AP-6600 and $500.00 for the USI. These prices were reduced from original asking price. How are they selling them? Reconditioned, checked and working or as-is?

OK, So I went and looked at the AP-6600 machine, on the ID tag inside the machine was ID as AP-Snackshop 111, is a 6600 and snackshop-111 the same machine, I am thinking that the snackshop 111 is a bit of a newer model. The machine was in good refurbished condition, the cabinet was of a shallow model and there was no gum rack.
Does this make sense, is the snack shop 111 a newer model and would it have been a shallow cabinet without the gum rack.
Thanks for all the info so far.

The AP111 is indeed a newer version then the AP6000. The 6000 was a shallow machine and the 6000XL was the full depth. Unfortunately, most people do not differentiate between the 6000 and 6000xl.OK, So I went and looked at the AP-6600 machine, on the ID tag inside the machine was ID as AP-Snackshop 111, is a 6600 and snackshop-111 the same machine, I am thinking that the snackshop 111 is a bit of a newer model. The location may be available, but i already had a location set up for it. Do you recall if the AP-111 was a shallow cabinet and did it have a gum rack. The AP111 is indeed a newer version then the AP6000. The 6000 was a shallow machine and the 6000XL was the full depth. It was a shallow machine. As far as the gum and mint rack goes, that is usually an option for the machine. It may or may not have one.
