I am having a tough time w/ this particular machine. I was finally able to replace the compressor fan unit. It was a simple job, once I was able to get the screw from hell out. I had to drill the sucker out. The fan was running just fine, but I kept hearing a clicking sound from the compressor. The machine was not getting cold at all. I have been informed that the compressor is bad. I am having the part shipped, however, I am wondering how difficult is it to replace the compressor.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Lee

The clicking means the compressor is dead. If under warenty have them replace the whole thing. If you ever hear that clicking you wont be able to replace it on site. Its not very hard to replace a compressor if you have a torch and the parts but if you are new to it Id just get a new of refurb one.

You know of any place that you could sell the old compressor assembly to (just to offset the cost), or are you better off just buying it from somewhere else? I also saw some used ones for sale for around $199 (www.premiervending.com), anyone know anything about this company? Or you better off just buying refurbed? Or could you just take the whole assembly out and take it somewhere for them to fix it?

refrigeration companies can repair but that can be expensive. Sometimes you can find them cheap on ebay that are new. Dixie is a very popular deck to find online and just about everyone has them. If you can get one for under $200 with some sort of warentty you are doing OK.

I know you are new to this and that is a tough luck you have had. I suggest taking a few refrig classes at a local college it will save you alot of money if you plan on growing over the years

The good news that it is under warranty and they are sending me a new deck. I have a vending repair company lined up to help me get it installed. The bad news is that I have a machine that is sitting there earning 0. I hope to have it up and running by Friday.

That is a good idea about taking refrig classes. I wish I could take a vending machine repair class. It would save me time and money in the long run.

Thanks for the info gang!!!
