I want to vend Gatorade 20 oz bottles. I have some DN 501Es. I have one selection in each that vends water bottles. I moved the waters to another row in one machine, replaced them with the Gatorade, reset the spacer(think that's what it's called) in the back, tested it and everything was fine.

Did the same process to the next two machines, but they kept vending two bottles at a time. I watched from underneath as I test vended. The second bottle just rolls over the notch that sticks out from the shim and drops. The notches on the other shims catch all the cans and the one Gatorade selection that does work, preventing them from falling down into the chute.

I imagine you may need more details, but any suggestions up to this point.

Thank you for all that reply. :)

HUH? Jk....It sounds like you have the wrong shim but I don't know exactly what 501E machine you have. First what 20oz water were you vending and are you trying wide mouth gatorade? Was the water wide mouth? Two totally different bottles need different shims. You can usually stack anything 1 deep and it will vend until you can get the right shims but don't forget to change the cam. Just a thought.

According to the diagram on the machine it is the correct shim. It's the same shim on the machine that is vending the bottles correctly. It was Nestle water and no the Gatorade isn't wide mouth.

I was wondering about stacking 1 deep. So you are saying it will still vend properly? It won't skip a vend without product?

I've read about changing the cam, except what a "cam", what does it do?

Thanks,

heres a picture of the vend motors

Posted Image

the brightly colored part on the front is the cam it adjusts how the motor starts and stops based on the settings consult the package set up guide on dixie website for the correct cam settings

it says "cam into hole X " the holes at the top of the cam are numbered but its very hard to see i didnt notice it until technivend pointed it out. you want to pull the outside part of the came out a bit and adjust it so the pin is in the specified hole

if thats not clear post back

Thank you. Yes, that worked. Everything else I had done correctly except reset the cam to the right number. Once I set the cam to the number according to the diagram it vended as normal.

Thank you,
