If anyone could give me any tips on how to remove it (force it forward, does it come out from the top or bottom????) I would be grateful.
The bit of metal is half moon shaped with a nipple at the back and then the bit ot the front where the motor goes.
Thanks.

Pull the cup forward where the motor attaches and the back of the cup should drop. Even though it may look like you pull the cup out through the front of the machine you actually take it out through the delivery area. So once the back has dropped you may be able to snake the cup out through the bottom. Depending on the actual model you may need to remove the delivery chute.
Many thanks for the advise, I went to it today and got it out, managed to slide it through the front but had more to play with when the delivery shoot was removed.
I still have the same problem though, it vends 1 can OK then doesn't vend the next can but then vends 2 cans, doesn't look like the cup has turned enough on one of the turns.
Im going to try to swop motors around tomorrow to see if that does anything???

You need check your trough, If a can has ever been jammed the trough will get twisted. With motor off and before you pull the trough out turn it by hand if any part of the trough hits the sides your trough is twisted and will need to be straightened or replaced. This causes the first can not to vend and vends two cans on the second vend. Also need to make sure that the can spacer is in the machine. It is usually a white spacer on the left sidejust above the trough. Just a thought. Many thanks for the advise, I went to it today and got it out, managed to slide it through the front but had more to play with when the delivery shoot was removed.

It's called a rotor. Check to make sure you have the correct shim and that the cams on the motor are in the correct posituion.
Many thanks for everyones help, ended up changing the motor assembly and that has sorted the problem.

You had the rotor installed out of phase. You should always look at the motors and rotors in the neighboring colums to make sure it is installed the same as those. Many thanks for everyones help, ended up changing the motor assembly and that has sorted the problem.
