Hello All,

I am fairly new to vending 2 years, but have a decent mechanical background and wanted to know if anyone nows if there is a conversion cable to convert a 27 volt maka validator to another style validator like a coinco BA30. The machine is a USI snack machine that has an oddball 27 volt maka validator w/remote that is hard to find. The machine is in very good condition and I would like to replace the validator with a more common type, any ideas? Thank you for any help.

We would really need to know the model number of the machine as well as the serial number to begin to guess. Some of the USI's can be converted to 110v interface if needed. Some do not have the capabilities of really using anything more than a MAKA due to the face plate or mounting in the machine. If you could get a picture of the validator mounting as well that would be a help.

VendNet at 1-888-836-3638 has conversion harnesses as they are the master source for Conlux and Maka parts. You will have to give them the model and serial number from the machine to see what is available. We usually send our customer right to them as the cost of the harness is $60+ from them. Hope this helps.

You are correct on all counts yet I highly recommend some due diligence on the consumers part first. We have had instances where the serial shows that it can be converted yet the machine physically would disagree. It is best to double check that it will accept the mounting of a Mars or Coinco first.

Thank you for all the help, here is the information that you said would be needed

FSI Model 3040 serial 76054095034

I was able to physically mount a BA30 but could not plug it in. The plug from the machine is a 4 socket that when looking into it looks like U00U meaning the outer 2 are shaped like D's and the inner 2 are round. Thank you again for all your help and look forward to hearing from you.

I am confused by your pic. I don't think thats a maka in a USI 3040. But yes you can mount a BA30 in a USI 3040. You will need a BA30S bezel and a harness it will be 110v. If you got the BA30 mounted then just buy the harness. If you are trying to save money and make the harness you have work then yes I can tell you how to wire it.... not recommended. Just a thought.

Sorry for the confusion with the picture. I do not have one of the exact machine currently but the picture shows the same machine and same face plate mounting area. It had a Maka NB14 27 volt validator in it and they are hard to come by and fairly expensive. I have a few BA 30's lying around and would love to convert this over to that type but do not know where to get a harness that would adapt it from the plug in the machine to the BA 30

If you still want to use the MAKA 27 volt bill validators the may be old but can still be repaired. We can also take your MAKA NB11-B 110 volt bill acceptors and convert them for you to a 27-volt system. You need not look for that hard to find 27-volt unit, just send it to us and we can convert it. Sorry but we can not make them take the New $5 bills.

My personal opinion, (I know everyone has one). Do not put much if any money into and old Maka, you are just on the end of a losing battle.
