When I open my Dixie Narco 501E the "jamm" message comes on the display for selections 5 and 9, then starts "homing". The cam rotates a few times and the metal "l" shaped arm that touches the cam clicks into the first few grooves, but does not stop.

I am not very good with the mechanics of my machines, but want to learn so I do not have to rely on others to fix them for me.

Here's the YouTube link of the video I shot of the problem:

Please ask me questions, I realize I may not have provided all the required information, but I am a big time amateur. I may not know what you are asking at first. :P

There is a vibration switch on the vend tray that activates when a can/bottle drops. I didn't here anything fall? When test vending hit tray with your hand to see if the motor quits turning that will test the vibration switch. Just a thought.

I do not believe there is a vend sensor on a 501E. It may be the angle of the video but it looks like you are missing the second wire to the switch. There should be a wire in the spot where the yellow arrow is just like the one that the red arrow is pointing to. Without this second wire you are going to get a jammed motor error.

I had the same thing happen on my 276,It turned out to be the cherry switch that was the problem. The white switch at the bottom of the motor.

If not the cherry switch, make sure the vend motor brake is working correctly.
