When I visited one of my locations yesterday, the DN 501T I have there was displaying "sold out" with a sign they had posted on it saying the machine wasn't working. My first try at a fix was to unplug the machine and reset the computer which seemed to have worked. In the future, what does this message mean when the machine is full? Is there a sold out switch going bad possibly?

If it says "sold out" and you have product in the columns, make sure that the sold out paddle is pushed down by the product. In not you may have to move the back spacer closer to the product so the the paddle will push down correctly.

I checked all of those out and wasn't finding anything. Last time I visited, it had done the same thing shortly after I left two weeks prior. After working on it extensively, I found that if I didn't crank down the door lock as hard, it wouldn't activate the "sold out" condition. I'm guessing that torquing down the lock was causing some electrical short that would throw it into this mode.

Try an check the harness form the board to the sold out switches, check on the VMC (vending machine controller) side where the sold out connection is made for any corrosion on the contacts. If you know how to use a volt meter, you can take the plug that goes to one of the sold out switches, then unplug it and check its voltage 5vdc.

I have one but don't know how to use it, better learn, huh? I thought it sounded like some electrical issue somewhere.
