For those of you with vending routes, did your form an LLC as a form of personal asset protection? I'd like to hear from both big and small operations. I'm starting out with a handful of machines. The last thing I'd need is for a six year old to choke on a gumball from one of my machines.

I formed an llc. I carry liability insurance and pay my state tax for the toys I sell. I use all beaver equipment that has the meter system I developed on each machine. I also designed a simple software system to help run my business. Www.michiganminivend.com.

I just formed a DBA for now. In my research I have not found any instance of a candy machine vendor being sued.

Besides the cost of forming an LLC for this type of start up is prohibitive.
