Wondering how many on the forum have a refrigeration degree? I have been thinking about trying to get mine online. Has anyone done that? It would be nice to learn enough to be able to work on my own machines and even others if needed. Not sure what I would have to do to get a license for freon.
Anybody?

You just need an EPA certificate to purchase and handle freon...most large refrigeration supply houses have the booklet and will administer the test. Usually costs about $75. This in no way teaches you how to repair and troubleshoot refrigeration systems. The units in can drink machines are of the most basic type. You may be able to pick up a basic refrigeration class at a local community college. Troubleshooting is a combination of electrical and refrigeration knowledge but the systems are for the most part simple. Frozen food and cold food get a bit more complex..Best of luck.
