I just installed a Coinco 3340-s mech into my Dixie Narco 240/138-6 Pepsi machine. I replaced the Coinco S-75 9800 that was in it because it only excepted quarters and wasn't giving the correct change. The coinco 3340-s was rebuilt and works great. It also has a plug for a bill validator. Now this machine is used for my own home use only so I don't mind if it doesn't take the new $5's and I don't want to spend a lot of money on the validator itself but I was wondering what would be a good compatible validator to get that would work with the coinco 3340-s?

Also I have qustions about installing it as well. There is no slot for it so I would assume I would have to cut a slot or can I buy a part with the validator slot already cut in it? Is there some kind of mounting bracket I would need to get or does it validator self clamp to the door? The validators I seen look like they also get power from the 8 pin jones plug. How can I plug both the validator and mech into one jones plug?

Let me give you my 2 cents worth. I am not familiar with the 240 model machine but I am with the newer models. If there is not a knock out panel on the door for the validator you will need to cut one. However, before doing that you need to know how much clearance there is between the outer door and inner door. See that there is enough room for the validator and stacker. Depending on the age of the machine most validators will not fit. Older 368 models we are only able to fit in the Ardac MBA system. The power for any validator will come from the second pigtail harness of the coin mech(9 pin) as power goes through the coin mech.

Really! Your going to buy your own pop at home what a host. Just kidding...... The 3340-s only comes with a credit line harness the vali receives power from a jones piggyback harness. You can buy a kit, template and mounting bracket from Vendors Exchange also will need the piggyback harness also the best cheapest vali would be a Maka NB-15a or a coinco BA30B you should be able to get a good used one for 50-75 dollars. If you can't find any let me know I have some. I know this sounds dumb but its cheaper for me to throw this stuff away than sell it for 50 dollars but thats about all its worth so if your not in a hurry I could come up with something. In fact if anybody needs or wants any older equipment for spares or parts I'm getting ready to throw it all away "Lets make a deal" Just a thought.

I buy several hundred as-is validators and coin mechs a month. Call me with a list and I'll see what I can take or need. 970-623-1272.

The time it would take to write that list I would have to charge 200.00 each for time lost. Its easier to tell you what I don't have available. No MDB, trc6010, trc6000, mei 2000 series vali. or anything made in the last 10 years. What I do have is anything else made in the last 40 years and do you want to buy by the pound or truck load.

Well, stuff that's in the era you are talking about is all maybe single price I'm guessing? If so, I'll buy TRC-6800H and Coinco 9300 series single price. Does that mean you don't have any Coinco Mag or BA bill acceptors? Don't want VFMs, but Coinco BA and MAG series I buy. I'll have to check how many I need of each. I got a lot the beginning of this month already, and might not be ready for another big batch until the end of the month sometime. You are on my list now and so will be the first guy I contact when I need more of single price, or Coincos if you have them.

Thanks for replying guys. Now that I look at it, it looks like a bill validator might not fit. Can anyone tell me the approximate dimensions of these things? I am wondering whether it would hit the door or not when I try and shut it.

Its been awhile since I've done one, Depending on what vali you use I think its 3 5/8 inches depth or there is an adapter that puts the vali 3/4" out in front of machine. The easiest thing to do is cut a hole in the innner door. If the machine has or had a bottle opener in the front of machine you will need clearance. If it didn't then you have a 50/50 chance it doesn't need clearance. Just a thought.

The stuff I'm talking about is single price but also 10,5,4,2, price mechs. Coinco multi price, conlux, nat'l, acer etc. etc. etc.

Okay. Single price is all I can buy. Think you could get together 20 TRC-6800H changers together sometime? What would the cost be?

Just ran across this thread, and I need some help.  I have a Vendo Pepsi machine, I believe it's a 407, 8 selections fixed price.  My bill validator just died, bill won't even get pulled in.  I opened the box with the circuit board in it, and there was some smoke stain on the cover next to one of the capacitors, I assume it burned out.  Anybody got a cheap replacement?  It has a MAKA NB-15a in it right now.
