Hi Everyone,

I just bought a snack shop 4000 as my first machine. I was told that these are work horses and very basic so they are good for starters. When I got he machine the guy I bought it from knew nothing about it (I got it for $100!) but thought that bill validator is broken. I tried to fix it yesterday a few connections where unplugged so I put them back. The machine runs in service mode set price check price etc but does not respond in test or operate. The keypad is doesn't beep and the screen goes blank(they work in the other modes) after searching it on here I tried to unplug the display and key in codes but it still not working.

I did enter 1.00 and 01 for all selection in set price.

The mach originally had an error code for g1 g2 g3 g4 g5 but i tried to remove the rack in set price. (these are the gum selections)

After removing them I went to service and the error code no longer came up but it still didn't work in operate or test.

I do not have any parts to swap.

The mach has a Mars coin (which i tried to unplug) it does work as far as I know, when i press the coins on the box they spit at me and that and the bill collector move when powered on.

Please help!

I've read it 4 times still not sure what your saying ..... Test mode on that machine is not a "Test" it still requires money to test. The machine has to be priced for it to accept money ..... from what I'm reading you only entered a product code and a price and not a location ... keypad doesn't beep on that machine ..... make sure the door switch is plugged in on the control board ...... there is no "all selection" on that machine every selection has to be set ...... don't worry about bill acceptor until machine works on coins. Just my thoughts, good luck.

Hi Vend1ng,

Thanks for your response. The mach does not take bill or coins at this time. The bill acceptor doesn't let the bills go in and the coins go right to the return slot. I think I did put a location price and product #. When I enter check price mode the product # and location show up when I press the buttons I.E. A2 01 1.00 . I did set all selections to 01 1.00 though except the g1-g5 as I have taken them out of the program. When I run service check the screen stays on all 8's when I press 14. In both the Test mode and Operate mode the mach does not repond to the buttons.

You need not set a product code for each item. You will need to set prices. It sounds like you have done that. Hre is a recap: Press the set price button once, press button #11 to increase pricing to your desired price or #12 to decrease. Once price is displayed enter all selections you want at that price( A1,A2,A3,......F5). Then push the operate button to lock prices in. Once the red light reappears your prices should be set. Push "Check Price" and then any selection. That should display the price for that selection. If prices are not set correctly the machie will not accept coins or bills.

Hi guys,

I tried to reprogram. I do not know if I am doing this right . I set all slots that are there to 01 1.00 (product 1 #1 dollar). Slots that aren't there such as f6 are set to 0.00 00 .

When I run the service mode no numbers come up when I press 14.

When I check price all prices are holding in the system.

The led inside on the board closetest to the inner door is on. Sometimes it blinks some times both are on. The light fixture keeps going on late. All modes except operate and test work. Today though it wouldn't let me shoot change at myself from it.

When you are in service mode can you pay out coins from coin mech? What model # of mars mech? From what you've said (other than some deeper issues) it should work. If bill vali runs a start up when machine is powered up and there is a least 10 coins each in coin tube and vali doesn't start up when bill is inserted problem is coin mech or control board. If at least one selection is priced correctly and operate light is on and coin mech doesn't take money coin mech may need to be tuned. There are exceptions to all of this but that is the basic we can go from there. Give me the model # of the coin mech and I will give you the good news or bad news.

its a mars5000, it was working to payout but now it's not. Could it be because i set the product code of non existing shelves to 00 with no price? When it was paying out I didn't know it need 10 of each coin I had 4 quaters in it.

Sorry to be a pain. I wish the manual was more helpful. It didn't mention the coin thing or what those 2 leds on the board mean.

You don't need a product code its just for inventory and you have none. Bad news its a MC5000 it could just be the mech has lost its tune. Do you have any other machines that use a 12 pin 110v dummy mech? Its a longshot but pull the acceptor out of the top of the coin mech at the bottom of acceptor is a row of copper touch pads check for corrosion clean lightly with pencil eraser. Then pull back off coin mech you will see a line of copper contacts that line up with those pads gently pull those connectors out to add more tension to pads then test again. Like I said longshot if that doesn't work you will need to send acceptor to someone that has the ability to tune the head. I can do it but it costs 40.00 plus parts (if any) plus shipping. Best option is look on ebay for a newer version "Trc6000" or a 9300s. Other bad news is even if we get coin mech working you may still have other issues with control. From what you have said and done it should take money and vend thats why we're looking at the mech. As a second thought and another longshot on the inside of machine left side under shelves is the power switch with 2 circuit breakers just make sure they're not tripped also you said machine light slow to start pull the starter out for now or pull bulb and test again. Just a thought.

Hi vend1ng,

Finally got a rebuilt trc 6000 for $40. If we can get this thing running you can have the old one to use/sell. So I switched the coin mech and can spit coins at my self in service mode. The ony modes it seems nothing happens is test and vend all the other modes work fine.

The "test" button on the factory board will let you test the machine with cash and not increase your meter reading. That is all it is good for. It will not test a selection. Since you have a bill validator installed you must have an aftermarket upgrade to the machine. Can you let us know what type kit is installed on your machine? We have used the Lutech kits and I believe you need to use a TRC 6000 coin mech with it. Since you are using a MC5000 you must have a kit I am not familiar with. Your new TRC 6000 should work with it.

Hi Cvending I just put the TRC6000 in today . It seems to be working fine as it shoots coins in service. It is just in operate and test mode the mach does not respond to the keypad at all and no leds in the front light.

It will not let you make a selection or even show price when you hit buttons in op and test mode.

Anyone have any experience with the snackshop 4000? I have one that will only
accept either one dollar bill or one coin - then won't accept any further coins
or dollars, and won't vend.

It sounds as though the machine lost it's memory(pricing). Be sure that you have set prices and try again.
