#13969 No/Wrong Change being given

Posted by validatorman on 12 February 2014 - 07:53 PM in Snack & Soda Vending Chat Room

Most of the time just replacing the coin slides on the bottom of the unit will take care of the problem. They are cheap about $1 each. You can find them at http://www.coinvalparts.com

#13953 Vendo 407 (?) MAKA NB-15 Bill Validator quit

Posted by validatorman on 10 February 2014 - 01:20 PM in Snack & Soda Vending Chat Room

What kind of coin changer is in the machine? If it is a Mars 6800H you have a lot of inexpensive options. The cheapest repbuilt we sell is $74.95...but that is an older unit and any of those do NOT have new replacment parts available. We use old units to repair old units as the only parts you can get new are belts. Let me know the coin changer model, and we'll see if there is something out there for you.

#13465 DN 501 E no longer cooling after recharging

We repair 100's of decks a year. The small leaks are almost impossible to find...but we always use a dip tank and complety submerge the deck (all external electrical items removed). If an access valve or tapping valve is left on a unit, that is a leak waiting to happen. If it is sealed, most often there is a small pin-hole leak in the evaporator coil and we replace it. Once again if you leave a tapping valve on a unit 9 times in 10 it will leak out. Just FYI

#13464 ROWE 4900-JR Dollar and Coin mech

Also be sure to check all your harness connections. Follow the one to the bill acceptor and make sure no plugs came loose during the move to your new location. We see that issue a lot with the 4900 and 5900.

#13462 Validator or Coin mech problem?

Posted by validatorman on 20 July 2013 - 06:15 PM in Snack & Soda Vending Chat Room

Does the validator even power up (that is cycle when the power is turned on) The VFM's are very old, but it should power up at the very least. If you have no power to the validator a replacement will do the same thing. This is not a 100 percent check that there is power, just an easy quick check prior to going deeper into troubleshooting.

#13380 NRI model 08-66-007 coin mech

FYI, the parts for that mech have been obsolete for over 20 years...it still may just have some cleaning issues. Do not use oil in the upper part, as that attracts dirt and will cause poor or no acceptance. It is a single price mech, and there are newer replacements available . a Mars TRC6800 will work fine.

#13378 TRC 6000 Problems

Before you shell out $85 (which is kind of high) try tuning your mech. Here is how.

1. Remove coins from changer.
2. Unplug power source without unplugging changer cable.
3. Short the 2 exposed pins on the changer control board located just above the dime tube with a screwdriver.
4. Reapply power to changer.
5. Remove screwdriver.
6. Reseat acceptor/rejector portion of changer.
7. Insert 2 nickels, 2 dimes, 2 quarters and then, 2 dollar coins. (COINS MUST BE DROPPED IN SLOWLY IN THIS ORDER)
8. Changer is now ready to accept coins again. Drop in fifteen or twenty coins of each vallue.
9. If at first you do not succeed, try again.

If this does not correct your problem after two or three attempts, you may have a defective electronic component!
Go here to be directed to an authorized repair facility.
If you know it is just a part that is broken, go to here
Hope this helps smile.gif

Additionally, we offer refurbished mechs for $75 with a one year warranty...

Yes, please give more specifics as to make and model. Check the harness that connects to the validator for any loose pins or broken wires. This ususally occurs just above the plugs.

Have you tried to change the prices and then vend the gum/mint?  If you have no other vending problems and the G wire ohms out properly, then I think you might have a bad board.  Do you have another working AP4600 you can borrow a board out of to try?  Be very careful when removing connectors from the board, they are very tight.  Make minimal contact with components on the board and before you touch the board, ground yourself against the machine to dissipate static and then try the best you can to minimize moving your feet while working with the board.

Also make sure you unplug the machine! Any static and/or other electrical "noise" can cause damage. We still repair this board but many of even the small IC's are not manufactured anymore.
