What are the basic things needed for a Vending business besides equipment, product, and good loctions??

Business liscense? Any links to get this info?

Insurance? How Much? What companies are good?

Local/State/Federal taxes?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Each city, county in my state has different rules and requirements for a business license in my state, depending on the type business you want to get in. For example I have to pay a yearly fee on each gum ball machine and put a sticker on the front of it to show I have paid a yearly fee in one county I have them in and the county right next to it and they do not require it. My brother has pool tables and has to pay the state a fee of $250 a year per table and display a sticker on front of any of his coin operated tables instead of paying state sales tax. You will have to check with your city, county and state to find out what the fees are in your area. If you do not pay Federal taxes they will let you know how much you owe. Insurance can vary depending on how much liability or theft coverage you want to carry. If you decide to get into the business I am sure a lot of people in this room can recommend companies to you.

Welcome to the forum. Your first stop for this info should be your states website. You will find a ton of useful information there. Also, if you have not done so already, search this forum for keywords such as insurance and license.

There are a lot of members on my forum who recommend Hartford for insurance. Are you looking at bulk or full line?

I am new to being serious about this if that makes any sence. I am not sure of the terminoligy. I believe I am looking at Bulk vending. Not wanting to have to worry about expiration dates of food and such. Just candy. I wrote in another section that I have 4 machines that I am paying a lot for but have been unable to get them located. Had two located for a while until that business went under. VERY small town pizza parlor.

I haven't done my due diligence in getting it set up properly. I know I need to do it the right way if I am going to do it. That is why I was inquiring about the insurance, business liscence and such.

Any advice, info would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am very happy to have found this forum. It has helped me a lot so far and keeps me motivated to get moving on this.

I am curious about this as well. I am in Houston, TX. i know I don't need a sales tax license. It is not necessary if you sell for only .25 cents

However, i don't know about insurance, business license, food and beverage issues/licensing, etc...

i even called the city and the person I spoke to did not know.

Anyone else operating in Houston???
