I might ask the seller for the vending records so far. This would just show you the best selling product and how much profit he is making so far.

Does his asking price sound resonable if his numbers are true?

It doesn't sound like a bad deal, but you might want to check out the machines yourself, make sure the locations are good and they are in great shape. He is talking about the vendstar 3000 machines, right?

It's the 3 head metal machines that come in yellow, red, and black.

I'd pass. Triples are the wrong equipment for most charity locations. You hardly ever find 3 products that sell well in a charity location and you can't break down triples to adjust selections for locations. Tom

Tom- Id have to disagree, when you say that you hardly find 3 products that sell well in a charity location, there are many popular products, and I have a double, cause i couldnt get a triple at that location, but the products that I found most popular are Skittles, Mike and Ikes, and Hot Tamales.

If I had 3 heads at every one of my locations, then 80-90% of them would have at least one head that fell below my minimum acceptable level for continued operation. Thats my experience. I do have triples (or more) at the locations that will sustain more heads, but that is a distinct minority for me. Tom

I think his time to service the route is accurate, but I think he's asking too much for the machines. What is the history of the accounts? What has his turnover been? Is theft a problem on this route? Why is he getting rid of them? These are some questions I would ask as well as a detailed history of the locations. He probably won't want to reveal exact locations, but he could give you a prospectus without revealing exact locations. If he's not forthcoming on the deal, PASS!

The numbers on the surface look good. If it's Vendstar 3000 machines, be sure you have other machines to replace them. They do not hold up over time. If it's the metal machines similar to the V3000, that's even better. I've acquired routes from two vendstar competitors and ONLY bought them because of the locations and because I could make my money back in less than one year.

Hope this helps.

Mark
