I have a rotor with a metal tab that is damaged and sticking straight out. I don't know if this is a spring or what? It is causing the cans to break open when they drop into the rotor. Do I need to replace the rotor or can I just remove the damaged tap. I just don't know how important this piece is.
Thanks for any help

I had a 501T with the same issue once, I removed the tab with no problems following it. I believe they are there to keep the cans from sliding forward. I think it may be an anti-shaking device. When somebody learns they can shake the machine and get free product, these appear to be an attempt to keep the cans from sliding forward which allows the cans/bottles to slide out of the front of the "rotor." Just make sure you don't leave any sharp edges behind which will keep puncturing the cans.

Thanks for the help. I'll just yank that tab out. I always wondered what that was for.
