I've thought about offering pencil vending machines in the local elementary schools. Have any of you had experience with these? I'm just wondering if they would be worth getting. I may get one and give it a shot

I would be surprised if you made a decent profit off that at all. How much would you be wanting to sell the pencils for?

I honestly think it would be a waste of your time - try gumballs in smaller businesses and you'll do better.

I remember buying a lot of pencils from my schools pencil vending machine as a kid... You actually just sparked my interest in it, it's so niche. Have you found a source for machines?

put a spin on it, install a good sharpener and hope kids will use it for fun (they learn to socialize by the water-cooler later on). make sure no fingers can get in, though....

They should jaaz them up in bright colors like sticker machines. You have to market to the age group you want to sell to.

Great Idea and I am sure that this will work near schools and educational institutions. Pencil vending machine is a great tool in managing your stationary products.
