In Topic: looking for locks

kennr Try this website for locks. http://camlock.com/E...TML/default.php

so i bought a gumball machine in the link below.

http://www.vendingch...ne-info-needed/

The problem is they did not have the key and one of the locks was drilled out. I then drilled out the lock on the top. Now i am looking for replacement locks. The dispenser says oak so i checked ebay and bought:

The only problem is these do not have threads on the outside like the ones i took off. From what i have found i think i need to find a lock housing for the locks i bought.

Im thinking i need something more like this.

any suggestions on what i need?

kennr You have to be careful with all plastic machines I had some and the candy got stuck in the coin mech and broke the gears when a coin got stuck they kept trying to turn it and it broke. I saw a post about beaver machines they are very good I had a lot of them and rarely had a problem with them.

I am considering buying 30 Vendstar 6000 Bulk Candy machines with 1200 lbs of candy at a cost of
$9435. These machinnes are all plastic and are the 3 headed machines. Is this a good idea? I Would appreciate any feedback from those of
you who are experienced in vending business.

I'm brand new to this. Had a locator put out 30 machines and now wonder what city / state guidlines I must follow. Can anyone give me a website to find out about laws governing New York City / State and candy vending machines? thanks a lot.

Depending on were you live the license you need to operate are different, some states require a state tax sticker on each machine and the county may require a sticker also. Some state you have to get a different sticker in each county. As far as you tax ID # if you are a sole owner your ss # is your tax ID # If you are corporation it is different you have to apply for a number under the corporation name (a lot more involved). I have coin operated pool tables and I have to renew my state tax stamp on every one each year it is a flat fee along with my other vending machines.

I find the amount they say they are making unbelievable too. I would take the time to read a lot of the posts on here. I have been around vending for over 40 years I wish I could stumble onto something that good. I suggest you actually go with them when they service the routes and count the money. Are they doing charity or paying out commissions? I saw a suggestion about beaver machines they are a very good machine I have several. Do your homework before you invest that kind of money. I see ads in the newspaper that say you can make $800 a week in vending. I know someone that fell for it. They are making $800 a week only problem they service their machines every 8 weeks and they make close to that on the week they service them. They get away with running the ad because it is not a lie you do make it on the week you service it.

Fortunately most bulk candy machines do not have to be serviced every week, I always had extra machines. I would fill them ahead of times so all I had to do is walk in change it out the candy and move onto the next account. Even if you have to count the money and give the account there percentage it is still a lot quicker if all you have to do is swap out the candy. The amount of machines you can service is going to depend on how you build your route. I had to take into consideration the area where I had to park and how difficult it was to get to each account. Part of my route was near shopping malls and easy to service others I had to park far away so on those weeks I could not service as many. Keep in mind too that some machines may need service which can slow you down. Restaurants may have to be serviced at different times as well as not to be in there way during there busy times. I had restaurants that I could not service between 7-10 am and 11-2:30 pm those I had to fit in with my route so I was not running in all directions to service my accounts. If you have to run in 50 different directions it will cost you a fortune in gas. It will depend on how you set up your account and the type of accounts you get as to how many you can service in a week.
