Has anyone experienced vending machine theft?  I'm not just talking about vandalism and pilferage, I mean stealing the entire machine.

Early this week some thieves made off with an AP5000 of mine from a fairly secure area (obviously it wasn't secure enough).  Does anyone know of any way I can make my machines more secure to prevent this from recurring?

It was pre-planned and the thieves knew what they were doing.  They had the night watchman's route timed and everything else in place and ready to go.

The sheriff thinks it may be an inside job.

If they had to clamshell the machine to get it out then they had to have a key for the machine.  If you have the serial number, as everyone should keep, then keep an eye out on craigslist for any AP5000s for sale and go check them out.  To answer your question in the other area, there isn't anything you can do to prevent this unless you bolt your machines together from the inside of the cabinets.
