HI,

I have a soda machine, not really sure what model it is.

I know it has a SII-D controller.

It has 3 double columns, and 5 single columns.

For some reason the 4th column(single) does not vend properly.

When i put a dollar bill into the bill acceptor and press the vend switch for column 4, the selection automatically
goes to sold out.

Then when i open the machine and check, it is not actually sold out.

When i close the machine the screen displays some text like "holding" and then a can from column 4 will drop.

I have manually tested the motor and i know it works manually.

But i can't get it to work with the bill or coin machine.

any help.

So you're saying that the product in column 4 only drops if you open and then close the door. Try to check the relay, or also the delivery chute sensor. Also check the sold out switch at the bottom of the column, is it bent a bit in one direction? Remove the product from column #4 and try manually tripping the sold out sensor with your finger, applying pressure and releasing as if it were adding/removing product, do you notice a "SOLD OUT" or any messages on the machine or any lights go out on the machine? That should help narrow it down.

It probably says homeing. sounds like the vend motor doesnt know where its at so it tries to home which means the actual motor is running cause you end up gettink a drink. Sounds like cam and micro switches need to be checked for proper operation.

Yeah, this is similar to my problem i think.

When I open the vending machine door and then close it again, the lcd screen on the front displays something along the lines of "Holding"

Not really sure what this means.

What should i do to try to solve this problem?

thanks.

open the machine door. take the vend motor cover off. now look at the door near the coin mech there should be a door switch. pull it out (it should stay in the out position). when you pull it out look at vend motor 4 and see what it does look at the cam to make sure it turns corectly and the micro switches go in and out of the notches (they shouldnt come back out but sounds like they are). if you saw something wrong fix it. if you cant tell whats wrong put some money in the machine and buy a drink from another colum that has the same vend motor setup. compare the 2 vend motors to see what they are doing differently. sounds like the brake may not be working on vend motor 4 or the micro switch is bad/not working. hope this helps

Dixie Narco SIID will say 'Homing' on the display when the inner-lock switch is depressed or pulled. This means that the motor for column 4 is not in one of the home positions. The board is attempting to correct the motors position. You mentioned that you 'manually vended' the column. Was this done using the 'TEST' function of the SIID control board?

Check to make sure you do not have a stuck or crushed can in column 4. Look up from the bottom of column 4 to see if you there is a can stuck that is preventing the motor from rotating the cam.

I have the very same problem right now on a Dixie Narco 501 8 selection can machine with a SIID board. The micro arm on a certain column is not making it into a cam "valley" alowing a can to drop. An error message appears when it occurs saying "JC-2" which I know means that there is a jam on column 2 but when I hit the door interlock switch with the door open the micro arm moves to the valley and the can drops. Does this mean that I should replace the motor or is it a board problem?

Thanks,

Justin

I had the same problem with my 276,it showed JC-3.Turned out to have a bad cherry switch on the front of the motor. It's a simple fix but you have to run through the diagnostics when you're done to clear the problem out of the computor.
