Question about Bill Validators

18 April 2008 - 10:54 AM

Hello everyone.

I'm glad to see there is a community for this industry!

Here's my situation. My father was in the process of launching a kiosk type business in 2005 or so. They invested in 200 units equipped with cash code bill validators and stackers (also touch screens and receipt printers), but the business never got off.

Here we are, years later, and the decision is made to sell the inventory.

We're debating on whether it's better to upgrade the units to accept the new bills that have come out since 2005 before selling, or to just sell them and let the client work with it.

So, here's the bullet point version.

We have 200 total, but in our hands, we have...

-100 CashCode Backload Bill Validators
Part No: SM-2005US1721

-100 CashCode Lockable Cassette (Bill Stacker holding 1000 bills?)
Model: VAULT 1000
Part No: CST-1K0-67-P1L

-They have never been used. They have been out of the box and installed into the vending machines (I believe), but no currency has been used in any of the units.

-They are upgradable to accept all of the new currency.

-100 is in Orange County, CA - the other 100 is in New York.

From what I understand, these are the high end models and a local distributor said that there's very little need for high end validators and that he'd take them off my hands for basically free.

That's when I decided to come here for advice.

Ideally, I am trying to find out if you would know who would be interested in units like these and how much is reasonable to ask for.

Thank you,
John

I hope this isn't miscategorized. If so, if a mod can move it to the proper place, that would be great.
