I have spent hours today surfing for a vending machine to put in the ladies locker room at my strip club. I have not much room for a large unit and would like one that takes $1 coins (which would be easy for me to keep on hand) as oppose to the dollar bill taker (they always seem to have problems). I am tired of supplying tampons, band-aids, pastie glue as well as inventorying sell-able merchandise that the performers are required to purchase i.e. pasties, g-strings etc. which I know I am getting beat up on. I have 8 main items that range from $1 to $18 plus I was also thinking about adding three brands of cigarettes (the most popular ones the girls smoke) because I am annoyed when my girls send the guests out to buy the performers cigarettes instead of spending time in my facility spending money.

My thoughts are it would be easier to inventory all the items if they are in a vending machine as we do not have a matron in the dressing room. I have been leaving it up to my managers and I know I am getting beat up financially as they forget to collect for the items. I liked the compact "30 select electrical cigarette vending machine" however it is pricey and could not find a used unit. I saw a Seaga unit but it said takes Multiple Coin combinations up to 5 coins per vend, and also accepts the new "Golden $1" US Dollar Coins and was not sure if that meant it would only be able to charge up to $5 for the item. Then I saw Antatras drink and snack machine which was used but again I do not know if I can put an $18 price on one item and use dollar coins. So confused!!!

I was wondering is there something on the market that anyone could suggest that will fill my requirements? Which brings me to another question, which is easier to maintain electric or coin operated units? I wanted to stay under $1000.00 and was thinking about purchasing a unit without the bill taker or sophisticated electronics as I am not equipped to fix it myself as I am a woman and have enough other repairs I need to pay for. I guess what I am asking is what do you think would be the easiest for me to maintain...especially with young ladies that tend to abuse equipment. Everything is under surveillance so I would see if anyone tried to vandalise it.

I wish I came across this site sooner as I have no knowledge as to what I would need so if anyone could guide me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanking you in advance!

Hi, one56day
There are several machines out there that would serve your needs much better than the ones you listed "Seaga, Antatras" Even though they would serve your needs they're not designed for an abusive location. Rule of thumb, if you can move the machine they will too when it malfunctions and they will. As dollar coin verses dollar bill I feel your missing the boat unless your customers "tuck" dollar coins instead of bills. The girls would have the bills readily available to them. (note: I could see where "tucking" a dollar coin would be ....... much more fun for a customer) you might be on to something there. Anyway the visual was distracting.......stick with a Mars 2000 series bill acceptor and you will be pleased with its capabilities. If you have about 3' square area then I would recommend a: USI Snackmart III 3 wide with a mars 6010 coinmech and a Mars 2000 series bill acceptor. It will serve your needs well takes 1$ coin and bills. You can price each selection individually up to $99.00. Depending on tray configuration you can average about 27 different items. Just my thoughts.

I agree with vend1ing get a quality machine. I got a 3 wide usi machine from craigslist with ivend
For 1100 recently. Just keep an eye on cl or call local dealers.

The dollar validator won't give u much trouble the ones that give me probs are outside locs or shop floors places like that hwere it gets dirty. Inside I really rarely have probs. Also they are modular replacing is easy u just open the door
Unplug the old one unscrew it and replace . Takes 5min no skills or training needed

That's funny. I can't say how many times I've been teased by total strangers about working in a strip club whenever I pull out a wad of ones to pay for something.

Go with vend1ng's advice. If you're not in a hurry, something will pop up on craigslist before long. Depending on how much someone wants to get rid of a machine, I've seen them as low as $500.
