In Topic: wont accept change

i have a MEI 4000 coin changer and it is not accepting change. can anybody help me out

Try tuning it.

Preparing Series 4000 Coin Changers

If you are using MEI's VN4000 or VN4010XV coin changers, first check to see if Switch 1
is in the ON position to accept the $1 coin. If you wish to accept dollar coins only when
there are sufficient quarters available in the change tubes, put Switch 7 in the ON position.
If you do not wish to accept $1 coins when the quarter coin tubes are low or empty, place Switch
7 into the OFF position.

To pay out dollar coins, make sure that the VN4000 or VN4010XV coin changer is equipped
with an interchangeable coin cassette that includes a dollar-coin tube. Then, set Switch 2 in
the ON position if you want to divert dollar coins to the cash box when the coin tube is filled
to the low coin level or, set Switch 2 to the OFF position if you want the coin tubes filled to
the upper coin level before dollar coins are diverted to the cash box.

If you are using MEI's VN4510 coin changer, follow the instructions for Switches 1 and 2.
Switch 7 is not used on the VN4510 coin changer.

After you are sure that dollar coin acceptance is enabled, drop a few dollar coins into
the coin changer to see if the coins are accepted. Unless the dollar coin channel has been erased
in the past, the coin changer should accept dollar coins immediately. If the dollar coins are
not accepted, you'll need to reteach the coin changer using the following procedure:

Depress and hold the YELLOW button until the red LED starts flashing; depress button C and D to teach $1 coin acceptance.
Deposit 20 one-dollar coins into the coin changer. The LED will come on solid and the 21st coin is accepted. After the 21st coin is accepted, the LED will stop flashing, and the coin changer will return to the normal mode.

Preparing TRC Coin Changers
If you are using MEI's TRC6000, TRC6010XV or TRC6510, you can enable dollar coin acceptance by ensuring that Switch 3 is in the ON position. If you are using a TRC6200 or TRC6800 coin changer, you can enable dollar coin acceptance by placing Switch 1 in the ON position. Finally, you can enable dollar coin acceptance on MEI's TRC6512 coin changer by placing Switch 2 into the ON position.

After you are sure that dollar coin acceptance is enabled, drop a few dollar coins into the coin changer to see if the coins are accepted. Unless the dollar coin channel has been erased in the past or taught to accept other coins or tokens, the coin changer should accept dollar coins immediately. If the dollar coins are not accepted, you'll need to reteach the coin changer using the following procedure:

If teaching is required, follow these steps before beginning the actual teaching procedure:

Interrupt power to the changer by removing the changer Power Plug.
Lower the Acceptor / Gate Assembly
Set the changer option switches as follows:
Short the two teaching pins (upper set of pins on TRC6800) by touching both simultaneously with the tip of a conductive screwdriver.
With the screwdriver still touching the teaching pins, re-instate power to the changer.
Remove the screwdriver.
Press the Acceptor / Gate Assembly back into position until the spring clips engage.
The changer is now in the Teaching Mode.
In Teaching Mode, the changer can be taught to recognize a set of coins. These coins are placed into eight (8) different teaching locations - ten (10) teaching locations on TRC6510 and TRC6512 coin changers - two locations per each denomination coin (nickel, dime, quarter, dollar, two tokens for TRC6510 and TRC6512). Depressing the coin return lever during the teaching procedure skips a teaching location.

After you've placed the coin changer in teaching mode, follow the following procedure to teach the coin changer to accept the coins you need:

Insert (1) U.S. nickel; it will be rejected.
Insert second U.S. nickel; it will be rejected.
Insert (1) U.S. dime; it will be rejected.
Insert second U.S. dime; it will be rejected.
Insert (1) U.S. quarter; it will be rejected.
Insert second U.S. quarter; it will be rejected.
Insert (1) dollar coin; it will be rejected.
Insert second dollar coin; it will be rejected.
After teaching, the changer switches to a calibration mode. This mode serves as a fine-tuning function. To calibrate, insert 20 coins of each denomination (following the teaching order) into the changer. Acceptance may be poor at first. However, it will improve with the number of coins inserted.

Can someone tell me how to set the prices on this machine? I purchased this machine and doesn't have a manual. I know I have to press the door latch and the red button on control panel, then 5 I think for selection. After that I'm clueless. Thank you so much for your help.

Happy Chew

I think I have a manual for that machine.
Email to: sales@chicompany.net and I can then send a PDF.

A few issues that the machine had or still has:
1. The cooling system ices up and the fan starts tapping against it making a noise. Sodas are cold all the time even with ice.
2. I would like to raise the price to .75 per can but cant figure out how.
3. The lights do not work after replacing the flourescent bulbs behind the Coke front plastic panel.

I probably can replace the ballast and fixture to make the lights work.
I probably can figure out how to raise the price.
-------------
1. The #1 reason for icing is an air leak. It is pulling in moisture laden air which freezes.
a. DEFROST MACHINE COMPLETELY. Using rags, get as much remaining water out.
b. Open the door and insulator door. Spray WD40 on the insulator door gasket that touches the main body when closed. SLOWLY close both doors. Lock door. Open doors. Look for dry spot(s) on main body. This will show you if/where there is an air leak.
c. Check to make sure the can shute door is selling and not warped.
d. Check to make sure there is no open areas in the area where the reefer tubes come into the cold compartment from the reefer deck. all must be sealed.
e. make sure your condesation tube is looped and unblocked inside. make sure any condensation in the cold compartment gets to the tube drain area of the cold compartment floor.

2. Price changing. The Mars 6800H is easy to set.
a. unplug changer from machine
b. there are two "banks" of toggle switches on the inside of the mech. One bank is for options, the other for pricing. look at the pricing bank of switches .
Going left to right the toggles are: $5c, 10c, 20c, 40c, 80c, ...... ON IS UP
c. .75c = switches 1,2,3 & 4 UP, all others down.
d. plug the mech back into the machine. If you do not do #a. changes will not take effect.

3. Lights, Unless this is for home use and you want the "gee - neato" affect of the lights, don't run them. Locations usually want to save money. It is a good selling point to get locations to tell them you don't run lights to save money.
a. the light ballasts go out on these. They can be purchased at a good electrics store. Match the ballast exactly .

I hope this helps,
Matt

In Topic: Bill Changer Parts - Coffee-Inn's CM-100

29 September 2008 - 11:12 AM

Hello, Just purchased an Antares combo vending machine and the bill changer was missing the coin stacks. The brand is Coffee-Inn's model CM-100 manufactured by Automatic Marketing Industries. Any leads on where to get parts or should I just buy another unit on eBay?

Thanks in advance

Those units are junk.
I tried to get parts...very expensive; $50+ for the coin tubes.
The older (japanese made) acceptors are NOT repairable.
Forget FEEbay, you would just be buying another persons junk.
Buy new.
But....if you really want to vend, get rid of the Antarres. Unless you paid less than $200 for it, you are not going to make any money with it...imho.

Matt.
