There is no location that would justify a combo machine except as an additional machine to a larger bank of equipment. There is no profit in combo machines. One of the worse combo machines is the "Genesis" machines. Read the archives on genesis machines. Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it would look nicer take up less room and be easier to move in and out than a soda and a snack machine side by side.

That"s the same mistake that 90% of the people make getting in this business. Not to be rash but when these questions come up the people have been through a "business op" seminar. No matter how we try or how we explain it they don't hear what we say. There is probably over a hundred years combined experience on this board (30 here) and we are not here to take your money just give advice. "Return On Investment" (ROI) is the only thing important. Fact only 40% of a vending machine is sellable. Meaning 13 snacks 6 soda 19 total = 5 selections. i.e. Cheetos,Snickers, Coke, Pepsi, Famous Amos. A top 5 in vending when 3 of those 5 are empty the location will call and say the machine is empty. You'll have to service it count up how many items those selections will hold ...... You just made 5 dollars the gas getting there just cost you 4.00 ...... Take a snack and pop side by side 40% of each small machine 6 select pop 21/2 selections 24 select snack 9 selections now figure profit. Just my thoughts.

I would have to disagree. AP has an LCM series which work out well for the right location. They are good workers and still have parts availability. I guess a lot depends on your goals. If you're looking to be a large vendor, yes the accounts that these combos are good for are probably not large enough for you. As a part-timer, sometimes I will take on smaller accounts that bigger guys won't touch and feel that a machine such as this can still make some money. There is money in the smaller accounts if you're OK with the fact it's not going to make you rich. It has to be the right location though. If you pick up one of these machines at a good price, it can pay for itself withing the typical ROI periods quoted.

I agree however that the Genesis and such are junk. No personal experience, but no larger vendor I've ever talked to had much good to say about them.

I started my bussiness with 3 rc850 snack machines and just went to bigger machines.The profit is in the single snack and single soda machines,even though there much bigger and a pain to move around. Once there in the location there a cash cow,the rc850 that i have run out quick and im lucky that all three machines are less than a quarter mile from my house. if they were far away i would be losing money just in gas. on a + side the rc850 that i have are easy to run and have had on issues at all and parts are cheap.
