My business moved into a new building and the previous owner left a Pepsi machine.  My wife saw it and decided that it would be cool to have so it was added to my "honey do" list.  I got the compressor working so it cools the beverages just fine.  I am having problems with the dispensing mechanism and need some help.

The labels on the machine are so worn out that they are unreadable.  One of them appeared to be an electrical diagram but 90% of it is gone so I have no idea how to debug the problem.  I programmed the coin acceptor so that there is no cost (a CoinCo 3000).  I should just be able to hit a button and the can come out.  When I put cans into the machine, the light indicating that there are no cans does not go out.  When I press a button nothing happens.

I took a picture of the machine and sent it to our local Pepsi distributor.  He replied and told me that I have a "La Crosse 106".

Does anyone have an electrical diagram of this particular machine?  I called what I thought was the company that made the machine but was told that the company that made it went our of business 25 years ago and the new company has absolutely no information on the machines.

Any ideas, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks.

John

You will need to search the internet for wiring diagrams for this machine.  I believe I've worked on one that also had a faded diagram.  I think it vends using a solenoid that fires to release the can.  You could have a bad solenoid or your time delay relay could be bad.  The relay is located inside the box that the coin mech plugs into.

If you think you have set the Coinco to zero, this won't allow a free vend. You have to bypass the changer to get free vend to work.
