we have a DN 501 E.  we had an AC guy come out and say there was no leak and added freon for us.  it was cooling nicely after that.  It is now no longer cooling again.  can't find any service people or companies out here so we are at a loss.  Idk if it needs a new compressor, refrig deck, or what!!! It's located at a pool where we live and we have been losing all those sales, very sad!

You aren't saying if the compressor is running or if you perhaps hear it clicking on and then off again quickly, if the fan is running in the bottom of the machine, etc.  This may or may not be the same problem you had in the past.  It can be difficult to locate a leak on location.  We always pull the unit and take it to the shop so that we can thoroughly inspect it, leak check, and install UV dye if needed.  That way we can give the unit time to demonstrate where the leak is so we know what to repair.  You don't say how long ago the recharge was done.  Generally speaking, if your freon leaks down in less than 6 months, the leak is easy to find in the shop.  The closer you get to the 1 year mark or more, the harder the leak is to find.  The tiny leaks are when we put in UV dye so that the next time it leaks it will be easy to locate the leak under a black light.  I always give the customer the choice of another recharge to get the machine up and running, or a few days of downtime while we try to find a very small leak.  If this machine was recharged last summer and then sat unused and turned off during the winter, that is when you will lose freon the fastest, so the leak could be difficult to find, even on a bench.  PM me you phone number and we can discuss this.

We repair 100's of decks a year. The small leaks are almost impossible to find...but we always use a dip tank and complety submerge the deck (all external electrical items removed). If an access valve or tapping valve is left on a unit, that is a leak waiting to happen. If it is sealed, most often there is a small pin-hole leak in the evaporator coil and we replace it. Once again if you leave a tapping valve on a unit 9 times in 10 it will leak out. Just FYI

I tried several times to call you and I think I left you a couple of messages last week.  I'll see if I can scare someone up for you.
