OK, so I'm a newbie.  I bought a Pepsi machine for the church here some years ago, they no longer use it so they gave it back.  I use it in the lobby of my business.  Everything worked just fine, it just took a little cleanup.  From what I've been able to find online it's a Vendo 407, the dataplate is missing.  8 selections, single price.  I had it all working fine, but the last time I took the bills out of the validator it (the validator) stopped working, it won't even suck in the bill.  I looked inside the enclosure on the MAKA NB-15a where the circuit board is, and there was a little smoke stain on the cover next to a capacitor, so it may just be burned out.  I checked all my harness connections, nothing helps.  The coin mech works just fine, and there is plenty of change in it.  Suggestions?  Is there a cheap replacement for the validator?  I really can't afford $120.00 for a rebuilt one on eBay.

You can have them rebuilt but I would upgrade it to another one. I am not a "repair guy" but maybe someone can chime in on what options you have as far as a replacment. If it is in the lobby of your business just put a sign on it saying does not accept dolars but you can get change if need and just keep change on hand for them.

What kind of coin changer is in the machine? If it is a Mars 6800H you have a lot of inexpensive options. The cheapest repbuilt we sell is $74.95...but that is an older unit and any of those do NOT have new replacment parts available. We use old units to repair old units as the only parts you can get new are belts. Let me know the coin changer model, and we'll see if there is something out there for you.

Hey,

I have the same problem with a Maka and I have a Mars TRC-6800H.  What are my options?

Thanks in advance.

Maka is quite old nowadays, we just throw em out.  There is however a service on ebay that refurbishes them for only $40, and they pay for the shipping.  Copy and past this number into Ebays search engine 301072545209 to check it out.  They sell old maka's for over 100 bucks which is crazy because they are scrap metal.  Everythings 24V now.  also do an ebay search for

"mars 110V".  I have some could sell for $85 Shipped. also coinco 110v for 65 shipped.  rualst@yahoo.com

Cant make money if you cant take money!

Yea.  Thanks.  I have no intention of replacing this POS with a refurbished POS.  Is there any special harnessing considerations when switching to a different model?

Steve,

I can replace your Maka with a factory rebuilt Coinco or Mars validator and a harness specific to the validator so it will connect to your 6800H coin mech.  You can PM me for information on this.
