I just recently bought a bowling alley that had been sitting for 13years...I finally got into the vending machines (only snacks), I have figured out how to program the machines prices and all of the spots dispense for the proper amount of money...the issue I am on right now is the bill acceptor... it only starts to suck the bill in (about 1/4 inch) then forces it out...but only when I turn the machine on...then it doesn't recognize the bill is being pushed in...and I have more then enough change in the change acceptor....the info I can get off the bill acceptor is (maka corporation, model nb-11b-400) if anyone could help that would be awesome!

You might want to upgrade the bill acceptor, that one is very old. What is the model of the machine?

Just because we're old it doesn't mean we need to be replaced, If that was the case you would need to replace the snack machine because its old too. Truth is the maka valdator is a very good one dollar validator for what it is. True there is a better vali to upgrade to but the only one I would upgrade to is a MEI 2000 series but alot of machines a Maka came on will not upgrade to a MEI since we don't know what machine we're working on lets try and figure out your problem first."it only starts to suck the bill in (about 1/4 inch) then forces it out...but only when I turn the machine on" Thats just a startup sequence. You should hear the drive motor run for couple seconds then the stacker motor run. This is important that you hear both run a complete cycle because if it does then the problem is the vending machine and not the vali and you would waste your money buying a different vali. Confirm the startup sequence and let me know what machine we're working on and we will see what we can do. Just a cheaper thought.

If validator runs a complete startup, pull slide out trace vali harness back to control board to where it plugs in and see if the harness connector is pulled up on one end. A very common problem on that machine. Does the coinmech take money and work? What's the model of coinmech? Is there a door switch mounted at the top of the slideout? Just a thought.

Yes the coins work everyting except takeing the bills seems to work fine I can't go back in till Wednesday but I will check the harness then. When I cycle the on off switch in side the machine with the bill container up/closed it seems to run some kind of cycle where the plate moves in and out like 3 times....if I have the drawer down and cycle the switch then press the drawer switch it does the same thing...boh times I can only get it to run once.

What does the display say? The stacker (plates inside) should only cycle twice. Normal position for the plates is flush inside if it cycles more than twice it will shut down and plates will be out. Vali will not work.

It could have been twice..it just seems like a lot of movement, I will confirm on Wednesday. The display just keeps saying * Exact Change Only *. The cycle does end with the plate flush and closed.

If the display says "exact change only" or "coins only" the problem is the coin mech or control board not the vali. Make sure you have at least ten coins each in the coinmech tubes. Does the coinmech payout coins from the tubes? What model coinmech do you have?

Vendors Exchange has what ever you need, Or I can fix you up with whatever you need. VE will have new parts what I would have would be used. If you already have other machines with locks I can rekey one to that key. Just a thought.

So the coin mech says it is a coin co model 9302-L, I checked the board where both harness' go and it seems to be good, wires are a little crammed but still conncted...about to go get some change and test the vali again...and yes the coins will spit out when I use the programmed button to spit them out....although it doesn't seem to hold the coins for a coin return...

Ok so the exact change went away and is now displaying the programmed mesage...the bill vali is now attempting on several trys to take the bill...it takes the bill just up to the 1 then shoves it back out...I no longer have to reset the machine betwee atempts though....so I guess the problem is now it won't take the bill even a quarter the way in... vend1ng do you happen to text? Would that be easier? I have taken the vali out and the cover off and have a video on my phone of what is going on...

Yes I can text give me your number in a private message and I will text you. If the vali doesn't "Snatch" the bill out of your hand it probably just needs belts and rollers.

Why is it, if you don't mind me asking, the belts and rollers? They rotate a lot when I hold the bill in the way of the sensor when it tries to push the bill back out...I did not get your number either...I have video on my phone of this happening.

Waldo, I am assuming that the belts are either stretched to the point where the drive motor runs but does not have enough tension to pull the note in or the rollers may be worn and are not free enough topull the note in. If you can hear the drive motor running normally but the belt does not pull the note through, my guess would be belts. When you have torn it that far apart to change belts you may as well do the rollelrs.

Ok makes sense. Would it be easier just to buy a new vali one that accepts 1,and 5's then digging in and replaceing everything?

That machine will not take fives unless your selling something for over 3.00.
