Hi there, i bought a vendo 407 on ebay for our office, and once it arrived (and managed to get it up the stairs) i realised it didnt have a coin mech. i thought i could get it into free vend, and bypass this, but it doesn't look like i can?

 

When i turn it on, it presents an error identifying that the bill validator/coin mech is missing. 

Ive looked at getting a cheap coin mech, but im not sure what is compatible (any mdb mech?) and cant seem to find any secondhand ones in the UK?

 

Could anyone help me with this and tell me if i can bypass the mechanism completely, or where i can get a cheap coin mech that i can hack some how to put it into free vend, or similar.

If your machine is computer controlled and you have a credit display that shows the credits and is scrolling the error you mentioned, then you can simply set all prices to zero in the computer programming and it will then free vend.  If the error you refer to is simply the 'use correct change' light coming on, then you need to get a single price coin mech which should be easy? to find used in the UK on whatever free classified advertising site you might have there, similar to our Craigslist.  If your intent is to only set it on free vend then you can bypass the coin mech and use a switch to set a credit on the machine.  More information is needed.
