You might have a bad coin mech, a jammed column or a motor not at home due to a motor brake problem.  Pull the motor cover off and look at all the motors.  Each motor has 3 switches sandwiched together with two switch arms riding on the edge of the plastic motor cams.  When a motor is at home, the narrow switch arm will be in a notch in the edge of the cam and the wide switch arm will be on the outside edge of the cam (the high side).  If you find both switch arms in a notch you probably have a motor brake problem (gummed up, magnetized or broken).  If both switch arms are on the high side of the cam, you have a jammed column, a dead motor or a bent rotor (the part that dispenses the cans) that jammed up.  If all motors are at home then the coin mech is probably just bad, especially if it can pay change using the coin payout switches but won't accept any coins.
