I think the licesnig depends on where you live and have the machines. Where I am nothing like that is required.
As for your sales pitch, Get hooked up with a charity it's the easiest way to tug on the heart strings of the owners. I use a charity that takes care of the families of police officers and firefighters that are killed in the line of duty. It's a universal feeling to help out the families of the guys and gals that help yours, so more people are inclined to allow me to put a mcahine in. Charities that help children are also a good one. Be sure to find a charity that has universal appeal. I have had several locations tell me that the only reason they allowed the machine was because of the polic and fire connection. So a good charity deffinetly helps.
My pitch usually goes something like this....
As I hand them a small flyer I had made... "Hello my name is Craig and I am with Support Police And Fire Vending, we utilize candy machines to help support the families of Police officers and Firefighters killed in the line of duty. And I was hoping you might be able to help us out by putting one of our machines in your store (restaurant or whatever)."
The brochure I hand them has more detailed info on it but it too is short sweet and to the point. It has a picture of one of the machines and outlines who we are and what we do, it also has my contact info on the back in case they say no or maybe. I have cold called about 50 locations and I have had 34 yes responses and about 16 no. Pretty good odds if you ask me.
